  • Needs improvement

Needs a couple think to make this app worth it and the subscription payable: 1. Airplay and Chromecast Support 2. Multiple simultaneous streams (sometimes I’m in the office and on the go) 3. Apple TV app 4. Get to work!
  • Useless

This app certainly is useless. Number one is that one person is allowed to use the app. Number two, I’m trying to open the race on full screen and only half of the screen is showing. Seriously!!! I’m going to unsubscribe from F1 because you guys are getting worst in this thing.

Streaming is unreliable - lucky if I can get 10 minutes in a row. Netflix, Prime and YouTube all work fine. Problem is isolated to F1 app. Player will not maximize from Chrome on multiple machines. Edge works ok, but a pain having to fire up a separate browser just for one site. I thought we got past this in the early 2000s Selection of races in the 90s is limited. Was hoping to relive full seasons. No such luck - only a few races per season. Finally, no AppleTV app - promised for months, but not forthcoming. This app is not good and I strongly recommending avoiding it and the F1 TV website for now. Shame - I’d love a decent way to stream old F1 races. This is not it.

I purchased this to watch races that I missed in 2018, but the joke is on me as all they have are 30 min recaps. Complete waste of money.
  • U.S Users DONT buy

After reading a lot of reviews it seems like all U.S viewers can’t get it to work, I can’t even load into the home screen let alone a race replay. It’s sad as a relatively new viewer of F1 that this app simply will not work, I see the dev responses on all of these types of reviews so if you know how to fix this problem I will gladly give it at least a 4 star (NOTE: I have 5GB internet that is fully connected so it shouldn’t be on my end. Also anything on formula1.com won’t load on any computer or phone browser)
  • Simply Broken

I paid for the highest plan option and it charged me fine but it’s telling me I have to upgrade to view anything. I go to the subscriptions page via iTunes and I can’t upgrade any more. This is insane and just completely broken. DO NOT USE or you will be charged without being able to watch anything. Terrible. Seems like many many people have the same issue. As someone in the US this is one of my only options since I don’t have cable. Guess I’ll go back to streams and torrenting the races!!!!! Thanks F1!
  • Does not work at all

Doesn’t work at all on iPhone. I already have a subscription, and I logged in, but after that the tire just spins and spins. Inexcusable that this doesn’t work, ready to cancel subscription.
  • Promising App but lacks some important features

This is the main app for F1 new owners. In the US, The app is basically a broadcast of the Sky F1 TV which is exactly what you get on ESPN. That is where this app fails. The ESPN app is a much better presentation of F1 if you are only watching the practice and race session live and your Cable service supports all the tiers ESPN offers. Other basic problem with the app is it lacks support for basic IOS standards: 1. If you turn on SILENT MODE on the iPad it kills sound on the app! IOS allows you to run silent mode WITHOUT affecting sound controls for individual apps active. 2. The app does not allow for interchangeable screen rotation. So the main screen is always Portrait mode and the player screen is always Landscape - even if you set ROTATION LOCK! 3. The app is a big resource hog. I upgraded to the new iPad Pro 12.9 and it still needs major buffering and memory to play videos. This is on a gigabit home network. Compared to Netflix this apps design is very poor, especially if you subscribe to the PRO service where the annual subscription costs are comparable. Formula One needs to spend time looking at Netflix and get some inspiration of what a good media and entertainment app should be. In its current state I would not recommend this app more than the ESPN app if you are only watching F1 practice and race sessions, and your provider gives you the entire ESPN service tier. In my case as a DirecTV Now subscriber I am limited to ESPN and ESPN2, so this app allows me to see the sessions ESPN moves off ESPN2, plus DTN is no longer offering rebroadcast support for ESPN3 streaming.
  • Video display issues

I love the design of the app but I’m running into some strange video cutoff on my iPhone XS. Specifically a weird boarder at the top of the screen in landscape mode more specifically. As soon as that’s resolved I’d be happy to rate 5 stars.

What else could possibly go wrong besides not supporting Airplay. I’m not a developer but I know its harder to exclude airplay than to include because iOS supports it by default. Furthermore why is it that on the iPad its forced portrait mode on the menu screens and then forced landscape during video play? OK and where’s Apple TV app? Unbelievable.
