Timeshifter® for PC Description

Used by astronauts, elite athletes, and top CEOs, Timeshifter is the most advanced jet lag tool available. Travel + Leisure: "This jet lag app will help you adjust to new time zones quickly" The Wall Street Journal: "Indispensable app for business travelers" CNBC: "Innovative new travel app that saves time and money" Generic jet lag advice is, well… generic. It won’t reduce your jet lag and can actually make it worse. Each traveler and trip is different and requires a personalized approach taking your sleep pattern, chronotype, flight plan, and a range of personal preferences into account. Timeshifter is developed with Harvard Medical School Associate Professor Steven Lockley, Ph.D., and based on the latest research in sleep and circadian neuroscience. Timeshifter not only provides advice to alleviate the disruptive symptoms of jet lag such as insomnia and sleepiness, but addresses the underlying circadian disruption by rapidly resynchronizing the circadian clock to the new time zone. – The Timeshifter algorithm is the most advanced of its kind: // Based on the latest research in sleep and circadian neuroscience // Practicality filter adjusts advice to the "real world" // Quick turnaround advice for short business trips // You can start adapting even before your departure // Notification system offers advice - even without opening the app // Works well across all times zones - even offline and in-flight – When you use Timeshifter for the first time, you will quickly realize how many things you could have done differently in the past. It’s a highly empowering experience, and it requires no special equipment. Just bring a sleep mask and your favorite sunglasses. Join the community of timeshifters around the world who demand a better travel experience. Whether you’re traveling for business, going on vacation, or competing in a sports event abroad - with this app, you will arrive ready to go. – This app offers in-app purchases. Purchase individual jet lag plans as-you-go or pick the annual subscription for unlimited plans. Payment will be charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. Timeshifter is the best product by far that I’ve used for fighting jet lag. On a recent trip from NYC to Tokyo, ZERO jet lag in both directions. Using it for upcoming trips to Australia, Barcelona, Milan. Recommended it to all my colleagues. Try it!
  • Wow! This really works!!

I am adding to my original review which follows. We went to Vietnam and Timeshifter again worked amazingly well. The time was almost exactly the opposite of our time. We were only gone 8 days. Timeshifter had me sleeping all night the first night in Vietnam and functioning great from the first full day there. Upon my return I slept well the first night and never experienced jet lag. I could not be more thrilled!! Remarkable! I travel monthly and am the worlds worse with jet lag for some reason. My husband bounces back and I spend a week waking up at 3 a.m. I am miserable and functioning poorly. My first trip using TimeShifter had me happily asleep all night from the day I left on my trip and again when I got home. I never had a sleepless or disjointed night sleep the beginning of my trip nor upon my return. I am thrilled!!!! Easy to follow and works!!! On a trip to Zimbabwe some years ago I was really out of sync and losing it. Finally turned to sleep meds which are awful too. So groggy. Wish this App had been available sooner. Next big test is in January. Vietnam is a day and 13 hours off my time I believe. Can’t wait to try my TimeShifter then. Customer service is AWESOME by the way. So worth the minimal cost for more enjoyable travel!!!! Thanks for this great travel aid!!!!!!

I saw all the great reviews for this app and thought I’d give it a try. I’ve tried other methods in the past without much success. This one WORKS! I was committed to follow it to a tee and glad I did. Was it kind of a pain to start 3 days prior to departure? sure. But the alternative was to suffer through several days of jet lag in South Korea after a 15 hour long flight from USA. I arrived in Seoul late Thursday afternoon. I checked into hotel and stayed up until 10 then awoke at 6am on Friday. I felt somewhat tired Friday afternoon but no symptoms of jet lag (that feeling of immediate tiredness without warning). I followed the plan on Friday and when woke up Saturday I felt 100% normal. It worked - even a day earlier than the plan suggested! If you despise jet lag as much as I do then this app is for you. At times their suggestions didn’t make sense but I did it anyway. There is a method to their program that makes it work. The worse part of traveling internationally is the jet lag and now I have the best tool to combat and overcome. So happy ! This app does take effort and planning. It’s like dieting - if you follow the plan you’ll lose weight. If not, you won’t. BONUS: I tried their live chat on the app and a real person answered my question immediately. TIP: I did purchase a portable light therapy lamp which helps replicate sunlight (no damage to eyes or skin). I would recommend you buy one in conjunction with this program. It’s around $50 on Amazon.

I used this app for the first time a couple of months ago for a transatlantic business trip. I usually suffer from jet lag quite a bit the first couple of days, but this app made a huge difference. It was easy to use. I liked that it gave me simple guidance for what to do before, during and after the trip. It was particularly helpful about when to take melatonin. I have recommended this app to my business colleagues who also found it made a difference during their long haul travels. And I just signed up for the annual subscription.

Sorry to say this app does not work. It is largely depending on sunlight exposure which is not possible at night!

Entered travel details for a trip from Eastern Timezone to Japan and was provided a plan. The plan delivered guidance on when to sleep, seek/avoid light, caffeine, and take melatonin (which I substituted with Tylenol PM without acetaminophen). I followed the plan closely, but didn’t really do anything special with light aside from be aware of light around me and make small adjustments such as opening or closing plane window. I arrived in Japan and actually had energy to explore some the first night there and got a full night’s sleep. My first full day in Japan I felt completely normal despite the 14 hour offset, and the normal feeling persisted for the entire trip. Upon return, I again followed the plan, and had normal energy for work my first day back. Coworkers were actually surprised by my alertness. I’m a very routine oriented person and don’t typically adapt so well to changes. This app is amazing and completely worth the in-app purchase, gave me an extra day of vacation and extra day of productivity upon return. Also very well designed.
  • I’m sold! This app is amazing!

Recently flew from JFK-HKG-ICN-HKG-JFK. I was worried because I usually get pretty hard with jet-lag, even on flying shorter distances - and I really had to hit the ground running when I arrived. Well I can honestly say that I never experienced any jet-lag effects during my trip - or upon my return. . My colleagues were all complaining and they would hit a wall at around 3-4pm and complain that they woke up in the middle of the night and could not go back to sleep. Meanwhile I was bright eyed and bushy tailed. One of the people I was visiting in Seoul, even commented on how refreshed I looked, given I had flown almost 20 hrs the previous day. I followed the app as close as I could. I also utilized those blue light blocking glasses when I was supposed to be avoiding light - but couldn’t completely control my environment. Regarding melatonin, I find that most people take too high of a dose. I would start with a 2.5 mg dose prior to sleep. If I woke up at least 4 hrs before I planned to - and felt I would have trouble falling back to sleep, I would take another .5 to 1.0 mg dose and would fall right back to sleep. On my outbound 16 hr flight to Hong Kong, my flight departed at 9am - and the app instructed me to sleep the first 7 hrs of the flight. Taking the low dose melatonin each time I woke up (approx) every two hrs - really helped. Will definitely subscribe to the annual plan and rely on this for all future long-haul trips.
  • Works well!

This app really helped coming back from halfway around the world. I had 35 hours of travel beginning at 1AM. I felt exhausted from a lack of sleep but my sense of time felt normal after my first night of sleep. I will be purchasing the year long subscription to help on trips in the future.
  • $24 Subscription. One free try. That one didn’t work.

Couldn’t handle a trip from Seoul to DFW to Indy. Expensive unless you’re going to use it a lot!
