  • Sometime it doesn’t work on the watch

    I really like this app in general. It has everything in one place which is great and I love the little motivator Apple you get on the Apple Watch but sometimes it doesn’t always work. It only updates when I have the app open on my phone and THEN refresh the app on the watch and sometimes the last page showing drink, stretch, movement is dark and won’t update.

    I’ve been using this app for about 6 months and I love it. Easy to use and aesthetically pleasing so I enjoy logging everything. Unfortunately, it suddenly erased all of my progress and now has the goal as “gain weight” and I cannot change it. So, I was extremely happy with it but now I can’t track my progress.
  • Great but could use a few improvements

    **Update: the app is so buggy it drives me insane. It recently erased all my profile information, my goal weight, even the plan I was on changed from “Lose Weight” to “Gain Weight” and won’t let me change it back. On top of that, it’s constantly changing my weight history on its own. It will just randomly add in weights that I never logged, so my data ends up all messed up and I have to go in and fix it. PLUS the macronutrient information on many basic food items such as rice are just plain wrong! I try to send in the appropriate information but it never gets fixed and it’s a huge pain to have to double check the calorie/macro info of every single food I want to track. Isn’t that the whole point of using this app?? Suuuuuper frustrating and I will not be continuing with my Premium membership if these bugs keep going unaddressed. *** I upgraded to Premium the first day of having this app because I needed to be able to customize my macronutrients; that being said, I can’t speak much to the free version, so this review is about the premium version. The premium version is wonderful! I love the beautiful design, the friendly and helpful reminders, it’s SOOOO much better than competitor apps (MFP) looks-wise. I LOVE that there are tips for how to get better day and/or meal ratings. With premium, if your meal is “imbalanced” you can see in a helpful graph exactly why (slightly high in fat, low in carbs, etc) which is really quick and helpful when planning what to cook. I also love that it cheers you on as you track your water, and applauds you if you had a great day by sticking to your macros. I’m really competitive and a super perfectionist so it’s like a game trying to get my numbers exactly right every time, and when I do the app says cute stuff like “AWESOMESAUCE!” or “You’re on a roll!! Keep up the good work!” I also love the little tips and tricks plugged in throughout the app, like “Prime your tummy for lunch with a glass or two of water”. It really helps contextualize WHY we need to hydrate before meals, etc. I like that you can customize which notifications you get and at what time. That’s a huge improvement over other apps. I’d like to say it’s totally user-friendly, but it definitely takes some getting used to. Once you get used to it though it is pretty easy to use. Some of the features and settings are a little bit buried (for example, it took some work to figure out how to turn off the workout deductions from my calorie count. If you’re truly tracking macros you should NOT be allowing yourself to eat more calories just because you walked a bunch of steps that day). My biggest gripe is that there is a lot of incorrect macronutrient quantities associated with the food in here, even the barcode scanning, so I’m constantly having to double check food labels and make adjustments to the macros (which kind of defeats the purpose of the scanner). It’s not always, but it’s enough to be frustrating when I’m hangry and trying to cook lol. What I don’t understand is why sometimes there is an edit button for the macros, and sometimes there’s not? I think maybe if it hasn’t been “verified by Lifesum” yet, you can edit, but sometimes the ones that are “verified” are incorrect. This is probably just because food products change over time, but it would be nice to ALWAYS be able to edit the macros info associated with the food, based on the correct food label info I’m holding in my hands at the time. A big recommendation I have for the developers is to add the ability to import recipe ingredients from the web! I use many different blogs, apps, and websites to find recipes and it’d be so much easier to upload the ingredients list than to have to add everything manually one by one. They have a couple partner apps for fitness tracking etc, but recipe importing would be top-notch. Another recommendation is meal sharing! My boyfriend and I both have the app and we eat most meals together. It’d be awesome if I could AirDrop our dinner to him so he doesn’t have to manually load every single ingredient too, after I’ve already done all that work. Or maybe not even AirDrop, but just a share button? Maybe a text link? Any sharing capabilities would be so helpful!! My last recommendation is to have meal suggestions based on my macro needs. Since I pay for premium already and have access to custom macros and custom recipes/plans, why not suggest recipes based on what macros I need in each meal? Let’s say I’m super low on protein for the day but somewhat high on carbs. It’d be awesome if that app could recognize that, then when I click the + sign next to Dinner, it could say “Try this recipe for dinner....” and it’d be grilled chicken breast with zucchini noodles or something. I hope this makes sense lol. The app is smart enough already to recognize where my deficits are for the day or for the meal, so recipe suggestions tailored to those specific needs would be incredible!!! “Oh you need 22g of protein, 10g carbs, and 48g fat for lunch on the 400-500 calorie range? Try half an avocado with 3 slices of turkey breast and 1 slice of cheese” (or whatever). All in all I love using the app and it’s already helped me so much! Any tracking is good tracking, and this app finds a way to make it fun! I highly recommend even the free version if you’re new to tracking or just want a better idea of what you’re eating. But honestly, commit to your health and upgrade to premium. It’s worth the investment and you’ll actually use the app once you spend the money!!! If they can add in my suggestions it would be a 7/5 star app I think ;)

    It was working just fine but it started to change my settings on its own! I selected that I want to lose weight and it continues to change to gain weight. If this bug is not fixed I would like my money back. I paid for the full year so at least refund me the other 11 months worth cause it’s pointless for me to have paid for an app that is not doing its job.

    I LOVED this app. For the last 2 years, it has been my life. I went from a size 16 to a 6 using the classic dieting plan. But as of this past weekend, it automatically says I’ve consumed 500 calories and burned 300 even on future days. There’s a bug and it needs to be fixed. Please help!!

    It’s a great app when everything is working correctly but it seems like there’s been a lot of bugs. For example currently it’s telling me my goal calorie intake is 6 and I can’t change my weight from 0 lbs

    When I signed up it said $3.99 but instead they took $44.99 i absolutely was not aware of this! I want my money back. This app is NoT worth it.
  • Easy to use but has some bugs

    This app is easy to use but I have been having some issues. For example I selected a food and it said “5 calories” per serving. This seemed off but I continued using the calories I knew I had eaten. Upon leaving a renter if the app my calories were way off and it when I went to edit the food the calories per serving was 350. I have to close the app and restart it and the verify my entries every time.
