When Badoo started sending me a bunch of notifications that “so-and-so want to chat” without them actually having sent them a message that’s when I turned off badoo notifications. It used to be ok, but “meh” is the best it gets from me since they started that nonsense

This app is designed to make money. It impedes matching people on a regular basis, which is the only way to talk to someone without paying for premium services. You can slide through 100s of profiles and still not see any of the members that have chosen you. The other annoying thing about it is that once you do actu make a match with someone I’d say the number of replies you get to messages are very low, somewhere between 10% and 20%. I’m not sure what they are doing yet as far as obfuscating communication. Basically the idea here is to project Badoo as a free app and it does have some free results but all in all the idea, like all of these apps, is to make money. Which is why they restrict you from communicating with ideal matches unless you pay for premium. This app could have enormous success if they followed PoF’s example and allow free communication between users. All of these apps would. Greed however, is usually what keeps the success rates low for the users and cash rolling in for the owners of the app. Which is a shame considering that these apps ultimately affect people’s lives and happiness in finding an ideal partner.
