CodeRED Mobile Alert for PC Description

Thousands of public safety organizations across the United States and Canada use the CodeRED community notification system to initiate emergency notifications. The CodeRED Mobile Alert app enables subscribers to receive these notifications directly to their personal cell phone whether at home, on the road, or traveling around the country. Alerts are initiated by authorized public safety officials to deliver location-based notifications and are not issued by OnSolve or its staff. Free alerts available* - Emergency - Community - Missing persons *PLEASE NOTE: If the public safety agency covering your current location is not subscribed to the CodeRED service, you will not receive alerts through this application. If your city or state does not currently subscribe to CodeRED, contact your local public safety organization today to let them know your community would benefit from this service. Helpful hints: • Enable location services on your phone. • The app also features the ability to view local radar footage for the past hour and satellite imagery of the previous 24 hours. • The CodeRED Mobile Alert app comes with a complimentary 30-day trial of CodeRED Mobile Weather Alerts that automatically notifies U.S.-based subscribers of severe weather. The optional CodeRED Weather Warning add-on is $0.99/year, but it is NOT required to purchase in order to receive emergency, general, and missing person alerts. • Your app account and the account you create for your community’s CodeRED system are NOT associated with each other. You must create separate accounts. Questions or issues regarding the app? Before writing a negative review, please contact us – we’re here to help! • Worst app ever

    By Eaubeau
This app is too complicated. It alerts me and then a half hour later I finally get the information I need. This app is just too slow and cumbersome to be effective. This year I’ve been around tornadoes, flash floods and the Camp fire. This app is not dependable.
  • Doesn’t work well

    By real_mauian
Signed up days ago and went and personalized the settings. Says each day a different number of alerts but no way to see what they are. Checked my phone number, everything is all correct in the app. Just doesn’t seem to let you see anything but a map and no way to open the alerts up to view.
  • Deleted as soon as I could not select an acceptable alert sound

    By JSchaeffer
I registered for this service, and then downloaded the app on the suggestion from a city flyer. I installed the app, and then tried to configure the settings. First setting is to select a sound for alerts - ALL of the options are obnoxious child toy alarms or sirens, and you can’t select a regular tone, or set the volume. Done. Deleted.
  • Needs work

Have the map overlay set for “satellite” and it just displays a grey shadow over the standard map... iPhone X running iOS 12.1.4 with latest version app installed. Also, not sure why I need to register a second time on mobile device, I must have reset my password on the website 5 times before I figured that out.
  • Half baked system

    By Rhenish
I just want to know if I need to not park in the street because of a snow “emergency”, even if I’m away from home. You can’t really do this. You can enroll online for both SMS and phone calls, but I only want SMS. And with the app you can do a radius alert, but that catches everything within that radius. If I’m away from home I get the wrong alerts. If I’m at home, I get alerts for stuff of no relevance. Oh, I just noticed my town has a winter parking ban listed as “Community” while the next town over has the exact same ban listed as “Emergency”. Um... P.s. app crashes with ease
  • Active alerts needs to be more customizable

    By ksadrin
When I open the app and see 80+ “active alerts” but none of them actually apply to me it’s frustrating. The app is overly alarmist and won’t show you details of active alerts either. Instead you have to expand out to see if alerts are occurring where you plan on going, click on them and then see details. It makes it frustrating to use.
  • Had issue earlier but they fixed it

    By Mulereiner
I ended up calling the # that the app person listed in others posts and they were super helpful about removing my prior location since I have now moved. Unfortunately my current area has not enrolled in code red but I will still get emergency texts if they occur. They do have excellent customer service and I thank the sweet lady that helped me out.
  • A good app

    By John_F._Kennedy
It has it up and downs but over all a good app
  • Fast push notification for tornado

    By Scoobzor
I almost forgot I had this app installed until there was a tornado warning issued for my house an hour ago. I received the CodeRED notification a solid 2 mins before any of the 4 other weather apps I have installed. And 15 mins before I got my Seminole County Alert. Not sure what the county is using but 15 mins is too long during a tornado warning.
  • Good app but has issue

    By joecz99
It’s a good app but will not let you register without an error message.
