  • Husband lost 70 lbs just tracking calories

    I was using a different app that my PT was using. I told my husband to get an app like this. Once he got MyPlate and he was tracking his calories he realized more of what he was eating. He was better able to avoid foods that were full of empty calories and keeping track of his foods helped him see what was making him sick and what didn’t. It tracks carbs, sugars, fats, sodium, and proteins. (More than this but that’s all we use). Once he realized how much he was actually eating he started making better choices a little at a time. He wanted to see how much he could lose before he started working out and he quickly lost 60lbs. He found that he was eating more than 10,000 empty calories before. Now he keeps it to under 2,000net calories. (It subtracts calories burnt that are tracked with his iWatch- I have an iFITNESS. Which is much cheaper and it syncs to this app as well). He loves it. It’s like a game to him. I tell everyone about this app because I’m so proud of him. Literally, all the motivation he needed was to be shown how much garbage he was eating. Now, because he’s eating less processed sugar, his sores heal faster, he’s off his gout medication,($200/month) and we’re hoping he’ll be off his bp meds next visit. His teeth are in better condition without all the soda. He can’t even stand to eat all the junk because it makes him sick. LOVE THIS APP!
  • Great App! Just doesn’t let me create own food

    The idea of this app is really cool and it’s super useful! I use it every day and it helped me lose almost 10 pounds. The only complaint i have is that for some reason the app will not let me create my own food and pops up an error message every single time. I think it would be useful if you guys could fix it!!!

    I have been using this app for about a week now, after trying a few others. I was recently diagnosed with Diabetes and love that this app syncs with all my other ones in my apple health. I can enter my food here, my blood sugar there and my sleep etc over there and they’re all right there in one place. If I had a wish it would be also being allowed to see the total carbs for each meal as well as the accumulated total for the day. I’m sure more foods/restaurants are forth coming as well. Thanks for this app in a very overwhelming time.

    Would love to rate this app higher, but as a diabetic this app does very little to help me log and track my blood sugar levels ad related to the food I eat. Please consider developing further for a large population in need of great health apps.

    Love this app SO much. Such a helpful tool for wellness. You have accurate knowledge each day about how healthy you are eating, moving and hydrating, and for weight loss and maintenance there is no better tracker in my opinion. I feel it has changed my life. Many, many thanks Livestrong. Also the articles on wellness are the best too.♥️
  • Great App, could be a little better

    Love the layout and the ease of searching foods and adding things to the different meals of the day. If I can’t find something, there’s usually something else that’s at least close in nutritional content that I can add. However, my only “issue” is when I click to add my own food and manually input fat, protein, etc, it doesn’t work well and shows up with weird low numbers like 0.03 g fat, etc. Not sure if this is b/c I use the free version and that is a feature for gold members. However I can add a “quick” food and it works with the numbers I put it but with this can only enter fat, carbs, and protein. Would be nice to also track sugars, etc of manually entered foods.

    This app is soooo good. I’m able to scan and find the exact foods I’m looking for and it’s just overall awesome. Shows your nutrition carbs fats and caloric intake! Love so much!
