Features a lot of the same learning tools that the big companies expensive learning tools, but instead of$500. A year, free! Yes, i didnt think it would be any good either. And its so good, im paying for it now and im so cheap id buy a set of boots 2 sizes small, if i found a corn plaster pack in the bathroom just so i wouldn’t waste them. Seriously dont pay for anything but this, if you cant, they are just ads for games that take 5 seconds to watch, endless learning for free. To developers, just wish you had sign language as a class, heres to hoping! Love it.

  • Good, but could use a few improvements.

This app is pretty good, but could use a few improvements. It’s a bit too hard to get rid of a language. Being able to check every word for its definition is a bit odd. More bonus skills (such as idioms and proverbs) would be good. Also, if I accidentally get a tap-o (like a typo but I accidentally tap the wrong thing), then it registers as incorrect. One more thing is that you should have a vacation mode, where you don’t loose your streak. I know that’s what the streak freeze powerup is, but you can only have one at a time. Still, overall, I recommend this app to anybody who wants to learn a language. Edit: I wasn't around when the chat bots existed, but I would recommend adding them back in.
  • Do you want to learn High Valerian or Klingon?!

This app is amazing!! So far the only language app I’ve found that has the most interesting languages. This app is very user friendly. The way they have the lesson plans setup, you end up storing the information in your long term memory. And the owl is very encouraging. (But not in an annoying way)

Warning: Don’t pay for the premium version if you expect to use Duolingo offline! I usually love this app and even pay for the premium membership so that I can practice languages on my subway commute. However, since the last update, the app no longer has the ability or even the option (the little arrow/checkmark icon next to the to pass-level-key icon) to download levels. Now I can’t use Duolingo offline anymore, which defeats the purpose of my paying for premium. I hope this is an oversight that gets fixed in the next update. If not, this app isn’t worth the pay version.
  • Better than Babbel

After trying this one I am getting better results at learning Spanish then with Babbel. The only thing I don’t like about this one is a find it is harder to have it understand my pronunciation of words. Babel understands me just fine. No matter how I say the word in Spanish on this it does not seem to understand me. If they fix the listening capabilities of their app this would be awesome.
  • Love it!

There are times you’re right and duo says you’re wrong because it’s not what the app has listed as a right answer, very frustrating! They need to update this app!!
  • Super fun!
