Babbel – Learn Languages for PC Description

Learn Spanish, French, Italian, German, and many more languages with Babbel. Developed by a team of language learning experts, Babbel has helped millions of people speak a new language with confidence. THE BABBEL METHOD Here’s what makes Babbel more effective than any other language learning app: 1. Confidence — Our goal is to get you speaking from your very first lesson. And our elegantly designed courses give you the confidence to get there. We teach you how to engage in practical, everyday conversations, making it easier for you to have authentic experiences in your new language. 2. Comprehension — Our lessons immerse you in relevant culture and real-life conversations. We want you to really take in the language, not just memorize useless phrases. And we provide helpful hints in English (or your native language) to make your new language more relatable. 3. Retention — We know you’re busy. That’s why our lessons are short but sweet: about 10-15 minutes, and designed to send your new language straight to long-term memory. We regularly refresh your memory with our dynamic review sessions, which target areas where you need improvement most. Finally, we make sure you really grasp what you’re learning by bringing it back later in a new context. • There is good and bad

    By Ground Quake
I am taking the Italian course. The material covered is good. There are, however, some exercises that are not very clear as to what they want you to do. The exercises where a person speaks and one is to type what is said is a good way to learn, but the person speaks too fast and is not clear. There is no way to slow it down or get it displayed in English so we will know what is being asked. For a big inners class the speaking should be clearer and slower. I have become so frustrated that I am about ready to give up on Babble. I am not knew to Italian and have taken over a year of in class study, so I can’t imagine what someone new to the language goes through.
  • Very few languages available.

Very few options available. “Oh, but they have the most spoken languages in the world”. Well, I was looking for Latin and didn’t find it so for me this app was useless.
  • Same old Stuff

Babbel is technically well done. It is however the same methodology you will find in school textbooks. It’s just been moved to an app. It is not adaptive in any way. Miss too many on the review quiz and it gives you all of the same test when you retake. There is no capability to focus on what you missed in the review or the test.
  • This app doesn’t work

I have had issues with microphone and other technical issues :(
  • It’s kind of scam

    By Flexibility 0001
Once you subscribe, you can’t cancel or change. The vendor hides behind “Apple” instead of taking care of the issue.
  • Intuitive

It seems to really reinforce the material with frequent review, examples in conversation, and the neuropathway re-wiring through written exercises. I am already conversing better with my German speaking family!
  • Not enough languages!

    By Alivepets161
I have to give it a three star rating because there isn't enough languages and I would love to learn Japanese for my spare time.
  • Babble

    By N Pennella
Way too much attention to spelling the words and not enough effort on speaking the language. I don’t care about writing in a language, I just want to verbally communicate with others.
  • Needs less typing

    By Newfberner
There should be more clicking on words and less typing. When there’s typing, it should give credit for obvious typos.
  • Very nice but...
