Looking at Fall collections is a bad idea when you're sick of summer. I really was trying to have a better attitude about it all, but then the new A.P.C. collection came out and now I can't look at my little floral sun dresses in the same way. All these collections are making me want to break out the black tights and plaid shirts, no matter how hot it is right now . . .
A.P.C. . . . I don't love all of it, but I do like it a lot better than the Spring collection. It seems like maybe A.P.C. just does best in its Fall/Winter collections, when it can show lots of layers and coats? Actually it's probably the styling I like best in this one--all the mixed prints and dress sleeves peeking out under the sleeves of coats and cardigans. And then everything seems to be in those wonderful Fall, back-to-school type colors that I'm missing a ton.

Minimarket . . . . The fact that the model looks a little bit like Charlotte Rampling probably has a lot to do with my liking the collection, but there are lots of other things to like too, starting with the wonderful '30s-ish colors (black and white and gold!) and '60s shapes. Not to mention some of the best winter coats, though it's way too early to be thinking about those.

Wren . . . This one kind of reminds me of a prettier version of A.P.C.: plenty of simple pieces--including little cardigans and corduroy skirts and plaid shirts--mixed in with floral and lace dresses and pants that I'd wear in a second if I could get my hands on them, which is saying a lot since the thought of wearing pants terrifies me. (well, I look awful in them . . .)

Lover . . . When their new collections came out online I really only focused on the Southern Hemisphere warm weather clothes . . . but now the Northern wintery clothes are looking lots better, thanks to all those black tights outfits and wonderful structured coats
Now, today it's going to be 90 degrees here in Atlanta, and it's silly of me to be even looking at these collections. So today I'm going to put on another dreaded sun dress and go outside and do some more complaining about the heat. But I think I might steal the brown socks/wedge sandals look from A.P.C. 'till I can wear tights again . . .
