We spent this weekend running errands mainly--gathering up things for a new Ebay set and driving around town, heading to the mall to buy birthday presents and hitting up an early morning estate sale. Today was especially lazy since I wasn't feeling the best, but we did get to visit the location of the photoshoot so we could take pictures for the blog. I wanted a '20s feel for the photos, though honestly I'm not sure why. My outfit was a bit 1920s college girl, but I think I was inspired even more by a short clip of an '80s film called The Whales of August that I saw on a Bette Davis documentary I got from Netflix. I think that T.W.O.A. might have to come next on my queue, if only for the wonderful New England spinster-style fashion of the elderly Bette and my current actress obsession, Miss Lillian Gish. Little sweaters, long skirts, peter pan blouses and pretty hair done up in braids . . . Is it bad that at the moment I'm more inspired by octegenerian style than by anything I've seen lately on Style.com or in any fashion magazine outside of Lula?
