It's been a while since I've done a post like this. I guess that all the wedding craziness (I still have to track down some pictures of it, I know!) made me skip a week of thrifting, and when I finally got back to it today I remembered how much I do love thrift stores, even though a lot of times they play the same soft rock favorites over and over again! (I still haven't remembered to bring my Ipod.)
All three funny little things in the left photo were found on today's trip. Usually when I go to thrift stores I'm in such a hurry that I don't even give myself time to look though the housewares and furniture aisles, but this time I was on a hunt to find props for something so I couldn't overlook the racks and racks of strange junk. What did I find? A bird statue since I love birds, a horse plaque even though I'm not crazy about horses, and a glove form to put my rings on and to scare people with!
I've been looking for a pair of leather loafers for a while, so I was excited to find these little fringed ones in a thrift store a few weeks ago. I'm hoping they'll make me want to wear flats more often. And the little '60s/'70s dress wasn't found by me; my sister Ashley got it at a thrift store and gave it to me last week. At first it was so short that I thought I'd have to wear it as a blouse, but then I discovered that a few inches' worth of hem could be let down, so now it's no longer too inappropriate to wear out as a dress! Thank you, Ashley!
PS--I'm working on tomorrow's auctions and I couldn't be more excited to be listing again! It's almost funny.
