Through the Looking Glass

One of the best things about writing a blog is all the amazing people you run into out there in wide world of the web. You may remember that I recently wrote about the Mine collection from Katherine Pont. Afterwards, I was contacted by Kelly, a lucky lady that worked on that very collection. How fantastic would that have been? Kelly thought I would like to know about a new project in which she is involved call Looking Glass. Boy, would I ever! It's an online store whose new collection "encapsulates everything that is feminine, stylish, playful and sophisticated with an all round vintage appeal." I'm especially smitten with the Abigail dress, Lola dress and Nicole top. With the dollar still being buried by the pound the prices are a bit out of my range but it never hurts to look, right? But if you're in the States and have a few extra dollars to spare, they will ship to the US. Just let them know before you order and they'll give you a personalized shipping quote.

Oh, and for those of you who asked, Kelly was also kind enough to let me know that the tights used in the styling of the Mine collection are from Emilio Cavalini.

  • The Dior couture collection, absolutely whimsical and fantastic. It exudes a certian playfulness that encompasses a smorgasbord of different era's fashions wrapped up into one beautiful collection. Galliano is pure genius.

  • My thoughts on the resort collections. Marc Jacobs was great, I prefered it over Louis Vuittion, much more fresh and fun, it did however, have to much jean on jean action. Dior, amazing, Galliano can do no wrong, the way he puts things together, it just simply amazes me.

  • Waaayyy back when this blog was just a wee little baby blog, I wrote about a collection of Swedish paper dolls that I discovered online. I recently thought of them and tried to follow my original links to the paper doll site. Sadly, the site has been removed. I wish I had saved more of the images!

  • Since I've returned home from my little evacuation excursion, I've decided to downsize my vintage clothing collection. I have so many items-some have been listed before and some have never been listed. I could list items for months and never run out of things to list.

I listed this cute little vintage 60s/70s hoot owl handbag for $45:

  • maria cornejo...one of my favorite designers! here's the lovely crop knee pants up for grabs! i'm finally letting them go! features a curved and seamed knee detail as shown in the views below. these pants are best paired with heels and a black top.

  • Wicked booties and tie-dye tights make this collection by Emma Cook simply stunning. The muted tones allow the details and patterns shine through. The collection is not really my typical style, but isn't that rather the point? I'm often inspired by collections and people who dress very differently from myself.

  • I'm back in action, finally! I have got to share some Satorialist snaps from fashion week (month) because they are fantastic! Here's a bit of an overview of my absolutely favorites, inspiring and chic.

  • Bravo's Top Design is starting again which means we can all "oooh and ahhh"over Kelly Wearstler's outfits. Honestly, this might be the most adventurous dresser on television--forget about Carrie Bradshaw, Kelly Wearstler's fun, crimped hair is where it's at.
