Warm Goodies for the Cooler Weather


Even though I am not a winter bunny, I have to confess I enjoy bringing out the sweaters and snuggies for this time of year. The fireplace has been used a few times already and the slippers are handy...so here are a few warm & fuzzy additions to our collection!

    Any vintage shopper knows the classic steps. Here they are.

    1. The inspiration. You need that specific look or piece to finish an outfit.
    2. The adventure of the hunt. Choosing the store, estate sale or auction to attend.

  • I have a confession. I love feathers, fur coats and leather goods. (If my dog could talk, he would certainly have a thing or two to say about this.)

    But the beauty of vintage is these items come guilt free - almost. Appreciating these types of items a second time around is much more humane than buying a brand new fur!

  • Well, the *R* word is here. (That's recession for those who have been living in a cave....) :-)

  • Sequins are back! Not that they ever really left, but there was that time in the 80s....brightly colored sequins were everywhere, even on workout wear.

    Black or colored sequins are the way to go this holiday season. You can find sequins on dresses in Topshop and by Alexander McQueen.

  • It's a well known fact that today's designers take alot of their inspiration from vintage designs. Not just the cut of an outfit but the patterns of the fabric.

    Much to my delight, when I opened my November copy of "FASHION" magazine, there was a Michael Kors dress that looked very familiar. The color hues are slightly different but I think I found his inspiration!
